Now we can cache any expensive function call using this function. No need to alter the existing function logic. But this memoize tandem approach has limitations as well. Let’s consider a recursive function to compute factorial. Here if we memoize the factorial function the results will get stored in the cache but inside the function definition we are still calling the unmemoized function so the caching doesn’t work. To fix this, we need to call the memoized function inside the function definition. So this works as expected, when we pass factorial(5) and later factorial(6) it computes only for 6 and give result from cache for 5. Consider these examples. Function with **one** parameter Function with **two** parameters Function with **different parameter types** Here all the functions above works with memoize but the problem arises when the argument of the function is an object. So in case of `addTwoNums` function, one would expect the output to be `4` for second call but since both the objects have different references, memoize considers them as different while storing in cache. To counter this we can use `JSON.stringify` to convert object into string and then store in the cache. But `JSON.stringify` is an expensive operation. It takes time to stringify large objects and nested objects also it may fail in cases where objects contains values which cannot be converted to JSON or if they contain circular references. We can also implement the memoization logic by ourself. But going with generic memoize function is much better for most cases. **Memoization is an optimization technique that should be adopted only if it’s required.** Some of the use cases where you should
